'69 Sunroof Beetle Scratch Rebuild

Where to begin....
Don't have pics just yet but I'll post some as things take their course

I bought a '69 1500 beetle with a factory fitted sunroof, the idea was to find a donor car cos I wanted to rebuild the car I have
The sunroof was an unknown bonus, I thought nothing of it
But after a bit of thought I just couldn't use either of my cars as a donor for anything (can't bring myself to butcher any acvw)

So now the plan is to rebuild both cars to 100%
My daily driver is still driving daily (for now)
The sunroof beetle is in progress

What I've done:
Stripped car completely
Body resprayed
Floorpan repaired, recovered and repainted

What my plan is:
Car will look stock, stock wheels and trims and all that
Bigger engine, 90.5mm pistons, disc brakes all round, twin carbs
Daily driver
Bugger already built my gearbox (SFAS box) now with longer 4th gear (0.88 for the bigger engine)

What I've bought:
Stroked counterweighted modified-stock crank
Disc brake set
Body rubbers and trims
Camber compensator (EMPI)

Currently:
Building the floor pan

Ok, so i'll keep posting my progress (which will be slow, weekend only project) and pics to come
Any suggestions or opinions will be welcome

So here's my floorpan,
repainted, welded up the battery pan and a few rust holes
new tar padding on most of it
Excuse the crappy image quality (who's idea was it to put a camera on a cell phone anyway?)

Ok that floorpan needs to be completely redone, its still standing in my workshop, the crappy padding that vw trends out on it is coming off and upon closer inspection the welding done could have been done better by a blind man with no arms
From some other posts i've seen, I think I'm gonna strip it and paint it with Duram pond sealer.
Only thing is I dunno where to get the insulating padding which was originally on the pan?

Engine currently being line bored and cut for the bigger pots
Here are my new EMPI cylinder heads with 90.5mm pots

Front axle (almost) complete and ready to bolted onto the floorpan (after its been fixed)
New king and link pin bushings, tie rod ends, steering box, shocks and steering damper
And of course my custom disk brake kit is installed too!

Its been a long time but I have not given up!
Here is my floorpan with the gearbox and suspension mounted, now sandblasted and powdercoated, covered with Damplifier pro heat and noise insulation to replace the tar board. Apparently this stuff is much better, and its a pleasure to work with

Oh, and note the extra fuel line on the left side of the tunnel
It is for fuel injection, the existing fuel line will be used for the return to tank
