Good thing you did not call them the Klapmuts Kombi Klan
Putting on a white sheet with greasy hands is just not the same.

Re: 1959 Kombi
In the meantime I made use of my temporary plates, Sean's aircooler and 6v battery and put on almost 200 kms - I still want to drive this bus to the George Show, and I need to test and service it - it is slipping out of gear here and there, was running a bit hot, but she is going to George
Still plenty of work to do, but for now, to drive her "as is" is proving to be great - if not slow- fun !

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Hey ! Great news, that must be a load off your mind.
Can not wait to see it in George.
Love the way the future driver is eying out the lack of "Green Tin" installation, you going to get it ........... once she starts talking .
Enjoy your ride.

Paul, why S licence??? That means you can only drive to shows and back and with no passangers.
Why do we celebrate the guy that invented the wheel??
Surely we must celebrate the guy tat invented the other three

Re: 1959 Kombi
That's not the case with the S licence, you thinking of an exempt licence. Special licence gives you the reduced annual licence fee as well as being exempt from roadworthy. Other than that, you can use the car everyday as normal.hitlers revenge wrote:Paul, why S licence??? That means you can only drive to shows and back and with no passangers.

Re: 1959 Kombi
It is true regarding passengers, I don't think I'll be using this bus as often as my Westy and '65 bus. All these vehicles and annual licences - it's damned expensive as well !hitlers revenge wrote:Paul, why S licence??? That means you can only drive to shows and back and with no passangers.
Special licence is R70 per year
