Run normal unleaded. Try to use a tank of LRP every 3 or 4 tanks...

The Aircooled engine was designed to run on Unleaded.... Ok they didn't know about Unleaded back then but hay the man knew what he was doing... :hangloose: You can run the Unleaded fuel and like Tony said use some LRP now and then.... :flash:

Not all of them can run on unleaded... but if you have a early 50's or late 40's engine, it might be time for a rebuild.

Dont worry Lesey, yours is safe for unleaded

I cant remember dates, but I think every engine after the early 50's was made with stainless steel seats (or another hard steel) which is unleaded safe. Its only the very early bugs that had cast iron seats and its those that need leaded fuel

The idea of all later heads are good to run unleaded is not so clear cut. I can assure you that many of the rebuilt heads locally that got new seats were never replaced with hardened steel. Mc Donalds Engineering one of the last few AC specialists and still doing extensive AC repairs never replaced seats with the hardened item, they were not the only ones. You need to remember that the price diff. between the two is substancial, and there was no need to fit the more pricey item up untill a few years ago. :zhelp:

I have sum more info according to the motor number mine is a factory rebuild(Have been surfing the site a lot) :puterwork: . So the safest option is to stick to LRP Fuel then the motor will last.  :?:

Just follow the advice above and you will be A ok....
If I can get my gas mixture correct I might remember if you need to advance your timing or not.... But maybe Chrome Dome can help with some info...
