WNTD: Beetle Person to do Audio installationJHB...

Post by OD_1 »

Hi All...

I'm gonna be picking up my beetle in JHB this Sunday. I've got a really tight schedule and have to be back in Kimberley Sunday evening. I've got a backboard thats been cut and prepared for the sony 6x9s. I also need to install the sony front mp3 player but i'm not sure if the standard 1976 1600S dashboard would accomodate it so it could possibly need to be cut.

If anyone thinks that they can help me please PM me with your rate.

Or if anyone can recomend someone that can do something like this for me in a hurry on sunday... it would be much appreciated!!!

Please see picture below. its quite old and out of date but gives you an idea of the dashboard and the radio block...

I'm gonna be doing a 3 day journey from JHB ro Cape Town and i need sound!!!

Also, Its my first beetle! Cause for celebration!!! :drunks: :hangloose: :flash:

Nope... that wont work...

Dont have ipod or dockingstation...

Do have front loader, 6x9s and backboard....

All thats missing is a kind hearted soul well educated in the art of car audio installations who happens to be free this Sunday to make a quick buck helping out a needy fellow like myself...

Anybody know this person... or maybe.. one of you is this person...

Lemi know.

If you don't come right before you leave...Do what I did as a part time fix..

1. Buy 2metres of different coloured cable,

2. Take the red and yellow wires on your frontloader and twist em together.

3.Attacthe a lenght of cable to the two joined colours and insulate em.

4. Take another different colour cable and join that to the black wire on the rear of your deck.

5. Take any two coloured wires and connect that to the (grey stripe to one Speaker) then take another colour to the other speaker.

7.Connect the black wired cable to the negative of the battery. And the red and yellow wired cable to the positive.

8. Place the deck on the front seat with the wires running to the battery all neat and insulated. Place the speakers on the floor or back seat.

9 you will need an arial for radio stations so get one or make a plan with wire.

10. Realise there isn't a No:6 and now go back to see if I'm joking.

If i dont find the "good samaritan" I'm gonna have to run with it. Thanks for the advise.
