Will do so and take some better photos, the supers, the Jean's, and the limited black Sp are the main ones, and the fun bug, the porsche one, the normal sp's and lefties are cool and the buses, will be there this Saturday, it's a weekend hobby. The stories behind some are boring but the one's built up, resprayed, restored have good memories to them. Will put up pics of my sun bug when it's ready, the bright yellow Jean's and the limited black Sp parked together are a beaut!!

Hi guys,

Newbie that married into a VW bus! My wife roasts coffee and has used the bus for that purpose before - the bus' name is Dawn. All I "know" is that it's a 1969 model, but it didn't come with much information.
Here to learn about VW's and what I could/should do with the bus. If any of you experts could have a look at the photo's and give me more information or show me the right place to start looking I'd appreciate it!

Will not be 1969 model, as its a Bay and its a Lowlight Bay so probably a 1972 .

The experts will be able to tell you if you post the 1st part of the vin number.

Hey thanks @retrovan and @73type2,

Lowlight Bay window - great I know 2 more things than I did already! Vin number below... Added the disc to the gallery.

VIN: 219211453

Where would be the right place to ask what the best course of action would be wrt fixing the engine? I want it to be reliable to a degree that I can go camping etc, but I won't go full classic car level. At the moment it doesn't start and misses.. Probably need a carb for a start. :D

Hi, Jeremy here, been a bug fan as long as I can remember, daily drove them in the old days, when skint was in  , and have renewed my passion with a totally restored '71 Automatic Beetle, mainly because I have never heard of an automatic, and have been taking her out on a few trips much to the amusement of the locals. Look forward to hearing if there any get togethers or road trips that may come up. Cheers

HI Aircooled VW South Africa

Newbie here from KZN. Both new to the forum and to the world of Aircooled VW's.

I am Picking up a 1600 TP Beach Buggy this weekend so I will involve myself as I go along.

The reason for the name, it's inspired by BEACHCOMBER, the buggy transformer - so my build will be centered around that.
