Thats right Tony --
Enough to make you throw up if you stare at it for too long!

Shella, I havent read it for A hell of a long time. I suppose if you dont do any fancy stuff and follow the book but apply a fair mix of common sense, you will be alright !

Well, I must admit one picture does not a book make.

Seriously FC. Get the latest addition and read it cover to cover. Yes it is funny and avoids the technical terminology to make it as easy as possible for complete newbies.
At the beginning of this year, I knew nothing about cars and even less about ACVWS.

This book was my first intro to keeping Lady on the road. I won't call it a technical manual of any kind, but without it I would still not know the difference between a crank and cam shaft.
Nor would I have been able to do the valve adjustment I did this weekend.

Yes, one does have to read it with a certain amount of intelligence, but for someone like me to go from complete newbie to half-competent took some doing. The book played a key role in
making that happen.

If there is one thing I would suggest as an add on to the book, it would be the Bug-me videos. Between the two of them I'm confident, that I'll be able to keep Lady on the road for as long
as I have money to do so and even a bit longer.

Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance is more technical, I thought...

Maybe I should invest in that book, the thing I have never really understood is the gearbox maybe it could explain it to me jargon free :)

Cannot recall any gearbox info. If I remember correctly John Muir says atake it to the experts. There is enough about motors though.

Hi guys, I must just mirror what some of people say, it is funny and factual at the same time, it helped me sort out 3 things in the first day of me reading. And I am not mechanically inclined one bit.

I stripped and rebuilt my first motor in the 70's using a photocopy and only recently bought a new edition as the old one is pretty greasy, it's a great refresher course as I haven't touched a motor in 8 years. A bit of common sense is always useful.
