Hazet 1500 round tool kit. It's a very early version of the 1500 kit, which was introduced with the Type3 range.

The box is fibreglass and the inserts are flocked polystyrene.
You don't have a T3 to put it onto, better you send it my way...... :D

Once in a lifetime bargain?

Post by Jack Nel »

I think, or no I'm quite sure that I got a once in a lifetime bargain on Saturday.....

1956 Karmann Ghia , left hand drive, no papers, for R35000......

So, I would prefer a right hand drive vehicle and would prefer a vehicle which is on the road and licensed, but a 1956 Karmann Ghia for R35000......I can't stop smiling....I would have paid R35000 for this car even if it had no engine or interior...

My father in law went to have a look at the car for me, I paid for it and he fetched it the next day. I've only seen it on pictures, but here is the information I have on it so far:

1956 Model
Left hand drive
No papers
Running condition
Original interior
Original engine
98% Complete car
Resprayed (Badly)
No rust
12v Alternator and electric fuel pump installed

The story goes that an uncle used this car to drive to work and back everyday until it "broke" in roughly 1984 and it was parked in his garage in Jhb untill about 4 years ago. The "broken" part that put the car out of service was an accelerator cable.....

  Exactly....while I was on the phone with the uncle his phone kept on beeping with other people trying to get hold of him, and while my father in law was busy viewing the car the seller's phone wouldn't stop ringing....
I was really lucky....

That is indeed the tooth of a hen - lucky you.

I believe that you also purchased more Jurgens cups and teapots from a junk shop there ?

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.
