hi everyone,

Sorry I not been here for long time

but i here now

and lotsa new stuff
also i bit lazy now to read 13 pages on this topic
but i see "which VW do you have"
and page starts with a poll voting thing
very nice...
but
i have a suggestion
well 2 actually
1st : on the list is missing "Autovilla" or "Autovilla Jurgens" or whatever

2nd : and on the topic of Autovailla's since there were only about a 100 produced (old shape 70's) i was wondering if eben/admin would consider putting up and keeping a register of these ol beauts . I more interested in old shape 1973 - 1979 i think but the register can include all but have 2 seperate sections.

kind regards
Doug

well

I have the Rogue "Jeep" and the Aqua buggy...
Which makes two buggies, in my book.

The only thing that worries me is, what happens if my Aqua's windscreen breaks? Where/who/what do I do? I believe her windscreen is the back window of some or other hatchback - but I don't know which one....

I use my Aqua (Lucy) to commute with - makes for a lot of very friendly commuting... Very few people see it and don't smile - perhaps they just can't believe what they're seeing - and even the beggars are friendly...

The "Jeep" needs some work on the steering, but is otherwise great - new engine, 'box, brakes are good, everything.... She also needs some sort of split exhaust to stop her pipes dragging when I have anybody in the back, although that doesn't happen too often, particularly since she's a bit light in the nose. I don't foresee using her for anything but cruising to the shops and back....

Eben, we need three more beetle categories!

Early big window - 58 to 66
67's (unique enough to qualify for a seperate mention)
and late beetle's 68 onwards.
I mean seriously, there are never that many SP beetle owners on the forum.

Thanks.

Greetings,
Frankly, I'm not sure. According to the guy we bought it from, it's a '72 1600 twin-port, but after having a look around the Bug, I'm getting conflicting answers, and it's starting to look like a re-build, cobbled together from a selection of different models!!

I actually dont own a VW but have a aeroplane with a Limbach 2.300 ltr motor. It is a type 4 engine and i am in the process of rebuilding the motor. It has been challanging as most of the parts were not easy to find. I used chev V8 pistons(103mm), porche exhaust valves, lots op patience with the guys at the machine shop, and now i cant find main bearings. I need 2 of the bigger bearings as the front one is replaced by a big bearing to be able to handle the forces of the prop.
