Hi all. Names Theunis. Driving a 19something vw double cab bakkie kombi. 2l aircooled motor. Only got it last week. Still waiting for the papers then ill know what model she is. Meantime im calling her my 1979 double cab amarok! Lol.
Lot of work on the ol lady, she left me alongside the road four times already. Only running on three pistons, number one is dead. I suspect valves, seeing that there is spark on the plug. Starter motor burned out last night. Me, i was laying in bed and suddenly heard a noice from the kombi, went out to inspect... Apparently i left the ignition on and after a few hours of standing on her own in the driveway, she decided to burn her own starter just to get some attention from her new owner. This bus is very 'herbie' like. She sommer hoots by her own randomly when driving. Me and her.... We still need to learn each others frills and fusses.

Hi All

Mark from Gordons Bay and after a brief French affair, happy to be cruising in a Beetle again. New addition is Lucy a 74 with a cool history. Been 5 years since my 64 went to a new home (and restoration) so keen to get grips again.

Hi Guys

I'm new here - my name is Trevor and I'm from Cape Town. I don't own an aircooled at present but do have a love of them - always have. A friend of mine who works in the UK has a 1972 (I think) Beetle (Jeans bug) which is here in Cape Town. He has asked me to have it restored for him and so I thought I'd join this site to learn more and hopefully get some information from the experts of who I could use to do the restoration.

Thanks guys - hope to read and learn lots.

I'd love to own a classic Kombi :-)

Thanks
TJ
