Original tyre size for 1976 baywindow is 185R14C, which is an 80 or 85 profile AFAIK. Also AFAIK, only Continental is still making that size in SA, although you can get Chinese ones. Many people fit the 195R14C taxi tyres, as they are easier to find. However, they do increase the rolling circumference.

Most important with bus tyres is to ensure the proper load rating, which should be 750kg per tyre.

Personally, I would never use white wall inserts but, as you can see above, they have their fans.

Thanks Alan, that is the way I understood it to work.
What is tyre size recommendation, stick to 185/70/14 or 185/80/14 or wider?

Thanks Fig, as you mentioned, I am also a bit concerned about increasing the rolling circumference.

I will probably go for the Continental 185R14C and then decide if I want to add the white wall inserts later.
