And another one from the same seller as the previous one I posted. "Delivery lead time 3-4 weeks from contract". I wonder if it's off shore.

And I also wonder if the source of all these is Guillermo.

Does anyone know anyone who has actually bought one of these? What was their experience? There was the woman on Facebook, who apparently had to rebuild the engine and respray the bus, before she asked here for advice on converting it to a samba ...

Hard to believe that this Ty is still in business regardless of the length of this thread...Those Brazilian splits for R250 000 sound way too good to be true, even for LHD vans. The problem here has always been that nobody ever seems to report back their first-hand experiences regarding seeing the Kombi's, etc.

She dropped out of sight soon after admitting that the bus she bought needed a full respray and engine build.

These were pictures Tyl emailed me while he was in Brazil looking at kombi's over there to sell off. I can't believe he's still trying to sell kombi's scamming people out of money, why isn't he been arrested already?

This one is like a long running soap opera. I can't wait to see what happens to this guy.

One would think being a LHD you would put the indicator stalk on the other side?
It would be prone to getting bumped by your knees and eventually break

Nothing will happen to this guy unless the way he does business is fraudulent. So far all I've seen is a typical used car salesman, who offers something attractive and neglects to mention the defects. Caveat emptor. Has he actually defrauded anyone? Can fraud be proved sufficiently to interest a prosecutor?

In my experience, when you take a case like this to the cops, they laugh you out of the charge office and say it's a civil matter; sue him.

We've had several volks from UK and Oz on here saying they were ripped off by this guy. In these cases it appears he did commit fraud as he misrepresented what he was selling. Nonetheless, these buyers bought a pig in a poke and knew (or should have known) the risk they were taking.

I've had private conversations with several of the foreign volks who were scammed by this guy and I've put them in contact with each other and shared the results of my own investigations, including finding exactly where they can serve legal papers on this guy. At least one of those people has hired local attorneys and private investigators, but it looks like those sharks are feeding off them just like the dodgy dude from Pringle Bay is. I found out more about him with a few google searches and spending a day in Pringle Bay during the December holiday than any of the lawyers and private investigators apparently have. The same guys are still complaining that nothing is happening to him, but I don't see them pooling their resources to do anything about it.

We've had only one local admit to buying one of these Brazilian buses, and shortly afterwards saying they had to respray the bus and rebuild the engine. I'm sure it didn't end there. But that person hasn't made any kind of complaint here or on Wysboek. Either they are still happy that they found their dream bus and accept the additional expense and effort, or they don't think it's worth making an issue out of it.

I suspect that everyone who buys one of these illegally registered LHD Braz buses is going to have issues with the licensing authorities sooner or later, but we've heard nothing about that.
