A confusing SC now parts available

Post by 64 Notchback »

For the past four and a half years I have been trying to get an elderly gent to part with 2 VW vehicles that are parked up in a yard the he used to have a shop, mainly because I wanted the panel van. They are both Bays, one is a SC and the other is a panel van
But on Friday I went to the yard again and they are still there but the panel van now has some serious rust issues. Both of the still have their motors in.
My question is what year could the SC be as it has what looks to be IRS rear suspension and reduction boxes,(I could not get a clear pic of underneath) a bay dash but the bracket that holds the steering column is the same as that of a Fleetline.
I will post the pics that I have later.
One motor and box and front windscreen is "reserved" for a forum member if I can get the gent to sell.

It sounds like a Brazilian Bay, here were a few in SA, with reduction boxes and universal joints on the drive shafts.

Thanks splitbus
Is there a market for these spares as the whole vehicle is far to gone to restore so unfortunately it is a parts doner

Thanks Bugger.
Because I am trying to salvage the vehicles as doner parts for other vehicles on the forum I am pushing the gent to give me a ball park figure of what he wants so I am trying to establish what parts are needed and what people are willing to pay..
Bare in mind that I may not make anything for myself and that I may have to remove and strip the vehicles on my own, I just feel that it is a pity that these vehicle are rusting away while there are parts that can be used.

Thanks for the reply's I have made a list of who wants what and I will contact the gent next week sometime. Did not mention that apparently the gent has been keeping the licence on one of the vehicles updated all these years.
