Hello,
I am a novice at working on beetles but wondered if anyone could help me understand why all the sudden gas is spitting out of the top of the air intake while running.
Thanks.I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

Re: Air cooled out of the blue gas spitting out of the air intake
When the engine runs, there is a small gas cloud that sits above the carburettor. This is normal and the reason the VW air filter sits quite high above the carb.
I think you can read about this in the "How to hotrod VW engines" book by Bill Fischer

If you post a pic of your motor, then we may be able to spot the reason for this.
Maybe you need to change the air cleaner as mentioned by Tony.

Nice try johnwalker. Maybe you think we're intoxicated from drinking your namesake?
