Define crazy expensive? There is a guy selling good quality boards for around R1300 a pair on FB.
If it's too low, you're too old

111898510B - Heavy duty, top quality with trim, clips and fitting kit
I can supply the same R1490 for both sides. I have a set in stock.

There are several guys punting the FG running boards.
I had customer show me a set he got from a guy in PE, come with no mounting hardware, gap between front fender was about 20mm too short at the rear fender it was about 5mm too long and had to be trimmed to fit, and no beadings, being light as a feather is not going to do much for its structural integrity either.

Just a question. Is a fibreglass floorpan ok to pass roadworthy?

Just for the record (because we sell spares and are based in PE) The Fiberglass running boards mentioned above does not come from us, in fact we import metal ones from VW Heritage and there are various quality ones available :
German made heavy duty includes trim and fitment kit : R2566 per side.
Mexican Set sold as a pair with black mats, fitted trim and includes mounting kit Second pic : R1540 per pair.
We don't sell Fiberglass ones.
