Have you ever considered importing your own Kombi straight from Brazil?

Post by Guilherme »

Hello Guys,

This is my first post in Air-cooled VW South Africa, sorry if this is in the wrong section.

My name is Guilherme, I work in an export company in Brazil and we export a lot of volkswagen from Brazil specially to Europe.

I wonder how is Brazilian kombis reputation in South Africa? Is importing your own T1 straight from Brazil something people often consider?

Thanks for your comments!

That will depend on the price.
It looks like your adds on the Samba is for reference only and not realy an indication on price.

It is not easy to register a LHD vehicle in SA.

But for those here who like to convert their buses to watercooled, dont you have some late bays for them?

Hi Herman, thanks for getting in contact.

Oh yes, these photos were of previous shipments, the prices here in the company works like this: Vehicle price straight from the previous owner + exports costs.

Just an idea of the prices, take a look at 4 options:

COD 557 - RED - YEAR 1964 - PRICE 17.000 usd
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

COD 538 - BEIGE - YEAR 1975 - PRICE 18.000 usd
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

COD 552 - YELLOW - YEAR 1974 - PRICE 10.716 usd
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

COD 551 - GREY - YEAR 1966 - PRICE 6.396 usd
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Those prices are straight from the owner, then there is the export costs that depends on the final destination.

That is just to have an idea of the prices.

Of course there is pricier buses and cheaper ones.
