72 Beetle interior parts left over

Post by Terry Phillips »

:zhelp: I sent my Beetle in to have the roof lining replaced and it came back with a box of left overs and I need them identified as they never cut out the holes in the materials to see where they all go. I got a idea on some items but can't be sure. Thanx.

The two rubber grommets on the left, are stops for the rear seat backrest. They are located one on either side of the dog box.

The shiny hook, and the broken rubber strap (bottom centre of your pic) go together. The hook mounts to the side of the dog box, and the strap to the side of the rear seat backrest. The strap, when secured to the hook, keeps the backrest in the upright position.

The two large white screws go into the slanted body panel (two green arrows on the right), below the rear seat backrest. They are used by some for rear seat belt mounting points.

The remaining three items in your picture, form part of the bottom pivot of the rear seat backrest.
