One person has been seriously injured in a serious single vehicle accident on the N3 Durban bound near the M7 offramp just after 8am this morning.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on scene to find a single vehicle had lost control and overturned coming to rest on its side in the centre median.

The driver was found to be severely entrapped in her vehicle and Rescue Care Advanced Life Support Paramedics stabilised her in the vehicle while the Durban Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to try free her from the wreckage.

Once free the patient was transported to a nearby Durban hospital for the further Care that she required.

At this stage events leading up to the crash are unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further

It's not uncommon for somebody to forget to check that the wheel studs are tight after removing the jack and stand.

Wow! Not cool. Hope they make a speedy recovery.
Brings back some memories though. I think I was like 6 when, on the way to school, a beetle in fron of us swerved off the road and hit a rather sizable pavement, causing it to make a complete front summersault. My mom didn't stop as we were late, and she wouldn't know what to do anyway... But as we drove past I saw the lady with her upper body out of the driver side door window and the blood running down the door. For some reason, that image has never escaped me. Even seeing these pictures immediately brought up those mental picures.

Do not totally believe the report, as there does not seam to be any body panels bent into the cabin area, think they cut the roof off as they where not sure of back or neck injury's, so for ease of removal, they cut the roof.

Rather safe then sorry.

Hope she is OK.
