Unknown fitting

Post by africandutchman »

Hi,

These are fittings on both sides of the rear window of a '71 1600L. Does anyone know what they are called and what they do? Could they be removed? If I want to replace them, what should I look for?

Thank you very much.

I don’t know what it’s called.

My understanding is that it is fresh air vents that collects the air from the 2 black banana shaped vents on the outside of the c-pillars.

My plan is to block off mine and remove the “grey under carpet blankets” from the c-pillars which causes the pillars to rust.

They are exit vents to assist with ventilation flow in the car. As Riaan.N said, they are linked to the outside vents behind the rear side windows.

Thanks Guys

I have not seen them for sale on any of the web sites I frequent. Would you know where one can have a look?

www.autostyle.co.za has the outer vent, you will have to phone them to ask if they have the inner one
