Terry, is the clutch adjustment correct, 10-20mm free play at the pedal? Clutch working properly? Try adjusting the gear lever base plate and see. I'm not a guru, but maybe I'm helping to rule out the obvious things first.

Maybe this one is for @bugger.

I am no expert in Gear boxes ....

But for my 100 million Zim dollars worth,

I would say you broke a selector and its jammed in between your gears.

The transmission selector normally go in to 2nd gear and the Hokey stick slip out between the 3 selectors on the Transmission
and can not get back and jammed in 2nd gear

Out with the Box and nose cone off to fit hockey stick back in-between the 3 selectors

before re install check the Gap between the Selector and the 3 Transmission selectors I sometimes bend them Slightly tighter to help prevent this
from happening
and sometimes weld the sides of the Hockey stick slight to make it wider to also help eliminate this from happening
