Nice engine

Post by IMPI »

A standard rebuild I did for a customer:
Engine is a 1600 singleport with exhaust and filter. The detailing largely done by the owner.

I am soooo liking those sunk in elephants. Do we actually get those fenders here or did chappy have to do it himself?

IMPI, do/can you cost a standard engine rebuild or is it one of those "it depends on the core" story? :drunks:

This Guy came for advice and then ignored everything I said to him Engine lasted only 2km
He then bit the bullet and I rebuilt and upgraded completely.
Basic no frills 1835
92mm barrels
W110 cam
40mm intake and 35.5 exhaust
stage 1 port and polish
Empi oil pump
36dcd weber (i personally dont like)
std ignition
The crank is still std (non counterweighted and this will impact on the life of this engine)

I don't think they're sunken like the Mexican bugs where you can see the actual indents on the fenders around the base of the light/lens.

Anyone else know how this guy did it? Was it simply getting rid of the elephants foot 'base' and then fixing the lens onto the fender where the base goes? Isn't there a substantial diameter difference between the 'base' and the lens?

I just completed this bus engine for a guy but he didnt like the exhaust and the new super duper radio ate the charging system so the bus got an alternator and EMPI 4into one fit was very good and sounded good too'

I just hate it when panel beaters dont mask my newly painted stuff

Bus had this exhaust but it obscured the sump

That is a stunning looking early bay. Good to know that the Empi 4 into 1 fits the IMPI engine :-)
