D, What these guys are unaware of is that getting parts for a 50's Beetle is not as easy as for a bus,
You need to get parts from all over the world, where as you can build up a bus from repo parts from scratch.
No big deal if its non important parts, keep up the good work, its great.

Re: Betty the Oval - Donovan D - ex-MINCE
Thank you, for the interior Im not sure yet.
Initially I thought about grey cloth to get the old look and feel, then thought tan/brown cloth.
Because of the red ragtop Im unsure, Im not too keen on red interiors.
Any ideas or suggestions ??

As most VW came out with red (of some kind) you would be very safe,
But if you want to go out on a limb, then a white or rather an off-white interior would suit the black very nicely.
My Fastback has the white interior, (see avatar in right hand top of this post.)

I would stay away from cloth....you will thank me later
I agree you have limited yourself slightly with the ragtop color. Tan and black works well....just not sure how it would sit with the roof, hence my suggestion of a dark red. However, if you remember Dutch_Diver's beetle, that was so red but I think it would probably be the best fit for your color combination.

I'm with Eugene on this one. A nice dark red or oxblood. Hermans 4th pic isn't too bad either.
Stay far away from white, I did it once and have hated it ever since. It was a really bad idea.

Re: Betty the Oval - Donovan D - ex-MINCE
My humble apologies for opening this can !!
My reason for asking was when I saw the ragtop colour !!!......have to agree with the ox blood colour or some form of red,....preferably some mix of 'pleather' and a matching hounds tooth,......just not hen's teeth !!

Re: Betty the Oval - Donovan D - ex-MINCE
I have been looking at interior options during lockdown and goint to attempt the interior myself, except for the seats.
I have found a vinyl color that I like but its not a marine grade vinyl that can be used for seats.
Its a burgundy sort of colour, any suggestions where I will be able to find this around CPT.
Kehls does not have the color in marine grade. They also dont stock the square weave carpets or tweed materials.
Any help ??
Other than the interior Im waiting on the correct 1/4 window rubbers as the ones I have are for later beetles.
Then its just the bonnet that I need to fit, but transporting it at the moment is a problem.
