Very pleased with the up-right stance, gives it the aggressive look and the bigger wheels give the butch look I like,
You definitely got the look you were after, "spot on" Herman! :D looking good there

This bus has enough power and ground clearance, to make it perfect for your Sani Pass adventure.

Darn !!, you guys have seen through my years of planning......

Ifs finally all falling into place.

Yes it started with the Fugly, to see how the height and stance suited the bus without effecting the drive ability,

The Fugly was used so as not to Chop/cut up (@sean) a good re-storable aircooled. Once all the bugs where worked out, the plan went ahead.....

Then the Beetle had to be obtained and readied, and then the Fleetline had to be got to the point of "A" framing the Beetle to Sani, as the Bucket list stipulated that Both The Beetle and the Split bus had to for-fill this dream...... :D

So YES, will be driving both the Beetle as well as the Split Bus up the Pass.

 May just need a lift down to get the other one........

Hi Herman

I'm glad to see another split bus has been saved and nearly ready to hit the road.

I am concerned about the other 51 weeks in the year though when the bus wont be driving up the Sani pass and just being used on the road. That front sitting so high is out of proportion and those wheels are just too hideous man. Put some standard bus wheels and hubcaps on there, then its going to look the part. :hangloose:

But again, I think you have used those black rims on all 3 of your busses, so you must love them :(

Hope to see the bus running soon.

Thank You Sean, Will take your opinion to hart.

But should you give it a few years... such as 20 .. you may grow to like them a little...

As said, still a bit to go, not sure what the final look will be like, I may love it or hate it, but will see when done, and yes it does include the "Black Wheel" as been tested for years. Await your comment when done.

Know you like "stock" but the look will only be paint, something that can be changed overnight.

Like the PO of the Bay can attest to.....

The stanch I have always liked as I have a hatred for "Dropped cars", as they have no logical or engineering sense at all.

Thanks again

Know you did not mean it that way, but.... thanks for the compliment

The old Fugly was like a Horse with 3 broken legs, You know what you have to do to it, but your Love for it still stops you hoping there is another way out...

Looking forward to all you guys giving your honest opinions when its done, hoping it will be a more balanced look then it is now.

Thanks Tony

Due to George rolling up fast, and too few hours in a day and too many things too do,

I have decided to Powder coat the back bumper as well as the "New and Improved" front bumper.

No you have not seen it yet, as I have not completed it yet.

Had bought a Fleetline bumper from a Forum seller, and when it was paid, and arrived, it turned out to have changed into a Beetle bumper.

Well having 3 Beetle bumpers and a welder..........

Now I hear you all say,...why powder coat the bumper...??

Well as it still has to be surfaced and panel beatted, and filler-ed and painted, with no time for George, I will sand down the powder and it will work the same as filler primer, and give me a smooth finish when time permits.... :D

Have epoxy-ed the tank and painted it, now it has to go back in and the engine re-fitted.

So till later

Herman, you make me worried. It’s a pity that 3 bumpers had to be lost in the process, but hey, lets see how they come out. . I also fear you have added some contraption to this bumper, please post some pics ASAP to put my mind at rest.

Thanks Nick, yes it went well till it started overheating, then it was back home being towed by the Beetle in 3rd gear.

Had a lot of fun with the nylon strap buring off at the exhaust every few kilos, but made it back home before the strap was too short.....
