you only need straight cuts with big cams and/or big spring pressures. If you have the "stock" CB dual springs then you probably dont need straight cuts with that cam.
I'll be able to help you with the head studs in July but not before then.

Re: 1962 T1 resto cal project
yea, I wiped off some bird poo after a pigeon got into the workshop.
going back to work tomorrow, so should have a bit more time in the evenings to do a little update, even though not much to update this time.
I have head studs in the workshop. But so close to my departure, I dont want to send anything out in case it goes missing at the courier and I cant do anything about it. You should have asked 2 weeks ago.
I am also contemplating an order from USA later this year, so thats an option too.

Re: 1962 T1 resto cal project
I am glad to see the progress so far....the engine looks so hard core with the grey powder coating. Just screams....achtung(German for beware, attention or danger)!
All of it goes together so well...really well
Your whole vehicle speaks volumes of a very meticulous personality...well done!!! Very nice EMPI exhaust and high quality. I hear they fit very well....you have been a good influence on Hennco who heat wrapped his mild steel version.
That engine for the Ghia....well hope the brakes keep up...roll over cage is installed and sorry the wheelie bars with the small addition of say.......4 point harnesses....ha ha!!!
Broer.......you deserve them wings
Hope to see you at the POMC Air cooled Heritage Day.
Regards,

Re: 1962 T1 resto cal project
While i'm waiting for some of the last small bits for my motr and transmission i have started wiring and plan on getting doors built next. I saw a nifty trick in one of the VW mags and decided to copy it, as my car has no emergency like the newer cars it was really simple, built the new flasher unit into the old 6 volt unit as it would also make it really easy to install back onto its original position as the new flasher would've had to be "p-calmped" into place. Came out quite cool i think. The new harness also went in really easy and only a few of the wires had to be spliced as it was originally made up for a LHD vehicle, waiting for the correct AMP terminals to crimp on before i can completely wrap up the wiring, you got to love how simple it is..
