Now the Windows
Checked on YouTube and it looks like the best way to install the chrome window trim is to first install the Windows in the car using the string method and then use the same method to install the chrome trim
I tried for about an hour to install the trim on the window rubber with the window out without any luck so YouTube is definitely your friend
Both front and rear window are in now just need some time to do the trim

Now Window scrapers
Looks like I have '58 doors because the on the later doors ( I have a few lying around now ) the metal strip that the window scraper fits onto is part of the door and after searching the samba web site (hence the unique door stoppers too that we made up )
It looks like the '58 model had a separate chrome strip that the window scraper (rubber ) fits onto , which is attached to the door with some pop in clips similar to the clips that hole the felt strips in
Now the million dollar question - has anyone out there have a set of these - labelled "Chrome Strip" - not to be confused with the outer chrome strip that sits on top of the rubber ?

Hi, just seen this. Nice!
If you look on the samba classified under ghia parts there are some of those scraper parts that are unique to the early (lowlight) doors at $95US each.
You probably know this but the bigger issue may be the door glass.
The glass slot in the early doors you are using is too short for later glass. And the glass that does fit the door may not reach the b pillar.
Also, the early check strap you are using needs a recess in the hinge pillar to locate the bracket. I have been through similar issues.
On the plus side the lowlight door is worth good money second hand to someone like me restoring a '58.
Hope you don't mind me chipping in.
Regards.

Well enough about the doors - I will have to make a plan later
Have cleaned up the dash and started reinstalling the gauges etc.

Side windows rubbers are quite a bit of work but worthwhile
