Which barrels do you plan to use... cut down Deutz-F*L912 series or imported? And heads?

Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.
Do'nt assume anything- (While doing fault-finding).

As yet, those are decisions that I havent made yet.
I'm trying to get custom JE pistons made, but the speed of correspondence is so slow, I am wondering if it will ever happen.
I've got Deutz barrels which are warped, so once I have pistons, I'll try to get the barrels honed properly to fit the pistons.

not an update, but I did find a picture of the upright cooling installed.
I had to cut off the breather tower as it was a closed top tower, file the insides and then make a spacer to get the correct height. OK, this picture still has me using steel flat bar to mockup the spacer height.

I think it turned out pretty well.

Any updates on this build Tony?
If it's too low, you're too old

I've collected a few more parts and now hopefully have all parts together for the engine build.
As far as progress on the project goes, well, I was hoping to finish it this year, but alas, I only managed to get a few hours into it during the year, so will now be aiming for the end of 2020.
