Only a Polish and dressing away from a Photo shoot...

So finally the Bay is back home after her new Paint job. :D

No she has not gone for upholstery yet, this will happen soon.

So you will only get distance shots of her as she is still shy about her interior....

My apology if the R50k paint job ...... is lacking quality...

Will assemble her as and when I have time, other things are getting priority at this time ...

PS, I should ask @Tony Z to change this threads name to 1972, as the original 1971 must make poor @fig cringe having told me a number of times its a 1972... :?

first post and the above post name changed, others will remain the same (as if anyone will really notice).
Future replies will now read 1972... and topic title will read 1972...

OK, Bays back :D

Yes she has new Paint on her and she has been to the tailor for new threads...

She is now banished to the garage till her windows are fitted, and some internals are adjusted to make her a more desirable companion.

As she is currently very camera shy, photo's are out, and we will have to wait till she is ready for the "coming out reveal"

As she has such an checkered past, and noting about her is what it seams, a provenance steeped in clock and dagger stuff,

Tied up in mystery,

I have decided that her name should reflect as much as possible without giving anything away.

So she will be "Knot Black & White."

Oh !! , and by the way that also has a indication to her colour .

Till then

Herman

Spending time on reassembling the Bay after all the work done to her.

As old age is a bugger, and I did not remember that the side door windows need to be fitted in the right order,

I had to do the job 3 time in the drivers side.

But learning from my stupidity, I managed the passenger side with ease.

Now for the windscreen and rear door glass.

Sorry old Chap, the photo's are still a way away.

Fitted the glass as well as the door and hatch rubbers.

Need to de-rust the front disk brakes calipers and pads, from the long stand.

Both front brakes bind from all the rust accumulated from wet workshops for the last 9 months

Done the driver side, need to do the passenger side this weekend.

Also need to tackle the "perfectly good" bumper that was bought over the phone.

Need panel beating, smoothing, filling and painting, before the rubber is added.

So till later

Ag Herman, who wants to buy "perfectly good" parts anyway! At least now you can spend some quality time with your bumper.

  Yes I did...

Must say, the bumper came out better then I thought it would, as it was obviously in an accident as some stage.

Cleaned up the inside a bit, after all the work done on her.

Found the brakes not as required, and after investigation, found the brake booster being the problem.

Stripping it out was not too bad, but landed up with lots of little bits that came out, that should not have come out.

Fortunately I had a spare T3 Booster and will be fitting it to the bus today.
