Well she is now fully dressed, and willing to pose

Had just done the brake booster and was on my way out for a test drive.

Thats why she is not clean, that will happen the weekend.

Brakes working fine now, after nearly going through the windscreen, when doing emergency stop test.

Also managed to set the Golf 1 lights as it got dark.

So her she is.........

Tried to keep some of her old personality in some small things as she has such a cool provenance..... :D

Thanks Herman, good job with the roof liner. Having installed roof liners in my Mercedes pontons I have an appreciation for the amount of work it takes with these bow type liners. There's also one reason I prefer a single cab - less roof to worry about!

Finally fitted @Tony Z g-tec ignition to the Bay.

Sorry Tony but as the Bay was not ready, I did not want to fit it to a Bus that would be standing for 9 months.

Now that all is done to MY liking, I have fitted it as well as my Low pressure fuel pump.

Made sure I had a good earth and that there was a Bosch blue coil on the bus.

Sniped off the condenser and started her up.

Ran fine right from the start.

Did not test drive her as its a pig to get out of my tight driveway.

So if you can forgive me Mr Z its in and working thank you.

Will report back once driven on Saturday to a breakfast run we have here in J-Bay.

Till then

You'll love the G-tech ignition. No more condensor, no more failures - as long as you have a stock coil with the correct primary resistance.

Will be trying it in longer and longer run's.

Now have 3 different systems in 3 different VW aircooleds, the only one now still on original distributor is the Fastback.

Will do a "Ignition Thread" when more Kilos have been done.

So as I am busy with fiberglass, body filler, polish and wax, with the MeFusco,

So used this spare time to start one more thing .

I have taken some sheets of marine ply, cut them up and knocked up a little kitchen for the Bay.

Must say that with the 9mm ply and 18 mm nails and very thick fingers,

I have managed to nail it together, even if I modified my fingers at the same time.

And I must say the "Swear"jar is full again, because of that.......

Well that said, I must clarify that its not only for the Bay, but will be totally movable, and can be fitted into the Fleetline as well

The one will be the fridge, and microwave unit, the other the stove, table, pantry and hold-all for all things food.

Still not sure what the final coulor will be but have started sealing the ply with clear wood sealer, for the start.

When the final reveal is posted, I will explain all the thoughts in my head and what all functions will be.

So as promise here are some photo's of the cupboards semi complete.

The small Stove unit will stand behind the passenger seat, and will be fixed for travel.

This will be able to come out to be placed under the lean-to rally awning.

The base must still be screwed under the unit to give a comfortable height.

The Fridge/ Microwave unit will stay in the bus even on the camp site as the bed can be open or closed with it in place.

So till they are all done, and installed into the bus, here are some teasers to keep you going...

Made a quick mount system for the stove unit so it will not attack the occupants of the van in the event of an accident.

The Fridge / Microwave unit is a bit more tricky as I do not want to drill a hole trough the side wall of the van.

so I settled for a single front mount and the bungy cord tie down for the back.

Need to get a Deep Cycle battery for the fridge and then install all the parts into the van.

Till then
