Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Some strong words from Seun lol. I've got a westy and to a beaut! It looks sooooo much better than a autovilla. Handles better as well.
The pop top does help when it's raining or windy out and you need to make a quick breakfast INSIDE. Or to get the braai accompanying sides ready. The sink isn't useless but it's no 5star kitchen.
All in all if you're a weekend camper and don't expect to live in your bus a baywindow is ideal.

Eish Bruce, your thread has been somewhat hi-jacked. But you never know where this could go, something might be gained from the comments in the end, including what we prefer to sip on whilst camping.

But in the meantime, here is a better pic of Sean's camper, but a bit difficult to see it behind the, er, tent

No no, just ignore Jolas and his tent pics. We not going to mention his tenting abilities at George this year when he got soaking wet and left to rather sleep with another man in a T5 camper.

Here is a more superior picture of a kombi with tent.

yes, yes this is a much better pic of your tent Sean - and a trailer I see

yes sleeping in a T5 was most luxurious I must confess hehehe !

But if I remember correctly, you had yet another tent at George, the same weekend, and you were complaining bitterly about being wet ????

Affirmative! It was absolutely hideous. My tent skills are shocking, that's why I sleep in a bus. :hangloose: I'm not taking any other vehicle besides a camper to George again.

😂 jolas.
I'm a lazy camper so I have an OZ Tent which I will use in the mean time.

Sean that pic is awesome. I'm hitting the road with no destination planned (thinking northern cape/ southern Namibia) in the last week of this month on a solo trip. I'm trying to decide if I should take the Kombi or the landy though. Perhaps I'm being a little too confident with the Kombi at the moment.
