Hope you are proud of yourselves boet,......what an achievement !!

Now your biggest job will be to select the next custodian,.....and start working him/her over to ensure the right appreciation of this fine vehicle !!

Thanks Neels.

Still waiting for the material to redo the roof lining. First one was not correct but with lock down, we will probably wait a bit longer.

Have a great Passover.

OK, this is not a joke anymore, but I think my expectations were a bit high as too how long it will take to finish a project like this.

The rooflining material has still not even been ordered. Only this afternoon did I found an alternative supplier. Hopefully after two linings that did not meet standards this one will do justice to the car.

I was quite lucky to locate a Porsche 356 steering wheel. It was completely refurbished and I fitted it this afternoon. It looks a bit upmarket in a VW that were built to a small budget. I do have the original bat wing steering wheel and if and until when I can locate a nice NOS or close to that horn button, I will enjoy the beauty of this Porsche adornment.

Part of the Porsche theme will be carried through. I'm lucky enough to have a set of 356A front brakes that I will fit after the brakes have been refurbished.

I think it wears the wheel rather well ! It is always what works for you,.......

I like the wheel, but not sure it fits the car as it stands now.
Best bet is to leave that decision until the very end and compare the two.
I'd probably go with the Porsche wheel simply because Porsche... no other reason. Just because Porsche.

Car is looking good.

I'm considering importing a TMI roof lining for my 1302 - if you want to try one, we can arrange something to keep shipping costs down, but I think your timeschedule might be tighter than mine...

Awsome looking car Rudi but I'm with Tony here...the Porsche steering wheel looks out of place to me.

Nice build, looking excellent.

Like the steering wheel, think it would fit better had it been in the same colour as all the other dash parts.

Here is mine with the bat wing correct steering wheel, but the hooter button is not right. still looking for the right one.

Thanks for the inputs. It is much appreciated.

Thanks for the offer Tony. I did order material from TMI and it arrived in 3 weeks. Can't believe that I didn't do it myself instead of waiting for a supplier to import it. But that is how we learn our lessons.

The rooflining is done and I'm very stoked. It looks fabulous. I'll post a few photos.

Herman, my car originally came with the "brown" steering wheel and column and seat frames, so I kept it that way for originality's sake. But thanks for your inputs.

Now things will start happening again and hopefully it can be finished in the next few months.
