If you want to install the Golf lights you have to put in those tabs.

Golf lights installed without installing brackets onto the fender.

I still have to adjust it and that will tell if my solution worked or not.

This is how I did it.

I made a ring from alu.

Image

Needed to cut a piece of from the new Hella lights mounting ring

Image

Made some brackets.

Image

Took the original adjuster screws and added the springs and made some more brackets.

Mounted everything and Bobs your uncle.

Everything worked ok when I test fitted it. The lights are sitting a bit tight in the rings, might be because of the paint. If it can’t adjust to where it is acceptable, the I can still play a little with the rings and then I can make it a bit bigger also. But lets see.

Ok, the books say the valve clearance should be 0,006 inches = 0,15 mm. I have spoken to someone who I would believe knows what he talks about, but I’m not sure if there might have been a communication gap somewhere or if it is correct.... I was advised to adjust the valve clearances to 0,3 mm.

Is this correct...0,3 mm on a standard 1600 tp?

Nice work with the mounting ring for the lights. Looks like a part you should be able to order out of a catalogue!

All the shocks were replaced with Monroes. The front ones are different than the rear ones.

Replaced the shift coupler bushing... it has been replaced before by someone and they didn’t bother to put the spring back. Cleaned things up and relubed it again. Replaced the gearshift coupler also. It shifts much better and tighter againImage

Hi Terry, the courier cost alone was about R1300 and it weighed 15 lbs, but I used Aramex Global Shopper on their Flex subscription. With Flex you pay for actual weight and they say you get better rates for items weighting more than 3 kg I think.

Will do the calculations to see how much the duties was.

The exchange rates aren’t doing us any favours!
