Re: Retrovans MeFusco Beetle Truck Project
Thanks D,
yes its that very same picture from that artist that inspired me to build the MeFusco.
Then it had the write up by this motoring journalist that said it could not be built......
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=38278&start=30#p328242
Well the rest is history.....
Herman
PS, sorry to all for lack of progress this week as life just got in the way again.

Re: Retrovans MeFusco Beetle Truck Project
Yes but as you see my "little friend" now has a Big friend.....
The 3 of us had a sit-down meeting, and really attack this issue.......
The majority vote was that we have yet another beer........
But then the decision was the German ww2 desert colours.
ie. main body Dark Yellow pre 1944(desert sand).......RAL 7028 till 1944 CMYK 40-45-70-10
Mud guards and other out standing features in Olive green ......RAL6003 CMYK 45-15-60-70
all in 100% matt
What say you all ???????

Re: Retrovans MeFusco Beetle Truck Project
Just busy with some "CAD" work, to make up the sheet steel fillers for the back of cab to load rails.
Wanting to get to the end of the metal work, so I can start on the permanent welding, flatting, sanding and preparing for paint.
Its coming to the end of "Maak n plan" stage where we can start on the "Maak hom Mooi" stage
Will post pic's when done

Re: Retrovans MeFusco Beetle Truck Project
Busy with the smaller things now, Will post progress later tonight.
During the looking for "Things to Do" list came up with the one question that I have not put much thought to.
Do I fit bumpers to the front of MeFusco ????????
Keep in mind that the back will not be getting anything as it would have to be removed every time you load and off load the beetle.
So do I fit a Butch bumper of heavy looking steel
Or
A USA petrol car push bumper,
Or
A Beetle bumper,
Or
Rolled Pipe Bumper,
Or
????????????????????
Any opinions please.
Herman
