These are normally only made by an engineering works as they are punched in to give the grip on the wheel side.

You can use expanded mesh as well, you get 3 or 5 mm which is better then the perforated sheets.

Herman

Some cnc cutting and bending places might be able to do it if they have the punching machine with the dies.

Or you can have the plates cnc cut for all the holes and use a dimple die...will take some time and maybe give you some blisters...or just use an air ratchet thingy or a battery operated drill with adjustable torque settings.

If my memory serves me right,.......I think ONVLEE engineering in PE did a similar job for rail car carriers a few years back.
Was punched with a die to make hole and bend the metal around the.hole out,.... hence giving the grip for tyres of cars to be transported.

Hope it helps. Haans

Thank you Sir,

Glad it is inspirational, as that is what I have been hoping for.

Did not do much, as far as progress, but due to coastal conditions, I was forced to put time and effort into the flash rust issues.

So yes, did a lot of spray painting, but little construction.

Well suppose that is also part of the project.

So we , well when I say we, its the commoners we, in other words, Me Myself and I, have found some time to get the MeFusco project going again.

Need to style up the front fenders, so I needed two sets of Fenders.

Fortunately I had the flower fenders from this here rusted body, as well as the fenders from my 56 Oval, that I have been accused of fitting to who knows what. but as I have the front and rear fenders from the oval to fit onto the MeFusco, not to mention the bonnets and other parts, it kind of puts pay to the school girl cat-ich jealousy.

As the McPherson struts are in the way for the standard fender, I need to make a double dip fender, to blend in with the rear, normal fender.

As can be seen the mock-up has been made using two fenders, and will now be filled in to complete the shape.

Have also started in completing the engine bay, and completing the boxing so that I may be able to fit the floor.

The floor has the Engine inspection hatch cut out already an will fit into place perfectly.

Made up some seat rails and welded in the adjustment studs, so that the seats slide fully to any position.

Seat rails have been marked and fitted to floor, and now I will be fitting the ovals foot peddles.

This will be a bit complicated as the seat has to be in before the peddles can go in with the steering column, which will also be from the oval.

The steering column will have to be shortened and the internal shaft as well. still need to get a double universal for the shaft.

Oh Well till next time.

Thanks for looking.

Herman
