Very nice starter bus.
It would seem that you have decides to keep it as an enjoyment bus rather then an investment bus.
There are so many split buses out there that as an investment you would have to bring it back to 100% original, then you sit with the reality that it is after all a Fleetline.
So if you going to bring it back to original, you will find it is not such a nice bus to drive all the time and on long distances.
I had the same problem, and did not see the sense to spend a
load of cash on a thing I did not want to drive.
So I rebuilt MY bus to MY liking, and it has blown the s#1T up the purists backsides, but I can tell you I drive my split all over, I tow a car trailer from PE to CT and back, drive up Sani, and I can truly say I love my bus, and I love how she drives now. Yes I have a 2lt Low Light Bay, but the Fleetline is still the nicest to drive with her mods.
So if you want to keep it, I would say get a forum member to lend you his 100% original Fleetline and take it on a long trip, before you blow the family fortune.
What I am trying to say, build it to what YOU and your family will want out of it, and the next owner can always convert it back, just store the original parts you remove.
You will get guys telling you to only go the original rout, but its not their money or their comfort.
Build it the way you want it. Have fun with it, remember its a peoples car not a one off Duesenberg.
