Re: My 181 - Kubel - Trekker - Thing
Hi all,
I have been absent from the aircooled world for a while but never stopped lurking.
It has been replace with Mtb'ing. Now if you thought air cooled was expensive try a MTB. eg Front Tyre cost R590.00 and I lost one after 30KM.
Just a quick update on the Kubel.
The Kubel has been going well and has covered +- 9500km. Now its time to make it motor a bit more modern.

Motor together again with crank trigger and lambda sensor installed. The next thing to install is the coil pack.
Checking if the mini fuel tank clears the tunnel and where to install the fuel pump.

Re: My 181 - Kubel - Trekker - Thing
Getting all the wires connected is taking some time.
Does anybody know where I can get a new female plugs for the TPS. I would prefer to crimp the wires directly to the female plug so that the wires are the correct colour to the end.

Hey Tom, glad to see you back...
I would try AC/DC or Zak Speed. Further than that, Hamrads in town (if they still exist). Unfortunately I cannot say that they will have, but that would be my sequence of shopping - hopefully they will be able to point you in the right direction...

Re: My 181 - Kubel - Trekker - Thing
The motor side is complete. All that is need is to connect the Fuel lines from the motor to the car. After I have the motor running the wires will be cut to the correct length put into a proper loom with the correct plugs on the end.
Here is a pic of the Kubel on the front cover of some English Mag.
