where's.....

Post by bugspray »

lots of old faces have all but disappeared from here recently, so I thought it would be cool to do a bit of snooping...
this thread is a "where is he now" kind of thing.
So just post a Where's.... (insert name here)

let me get it started:

Where's.... VADER, and the Tie Fighter? and
Where's Dutch Diver? :puterwork:

Frank, or Dutch Diver, moved back to the UK a few years ago.

He occasionally posts here, and did so a few weeks back.

Not by me either. Who banned him? I thought the banning story was a myth ...

Offensive is in the eye of the beholder. Vader was certainly entertaining.

Haven't banned him either, had a look at Vader's profile and he is indeed banned with the note 'Abrasive non-constructive PM sent to myself..' - could be Eben?

I won't disappear soon, like it here.

One thing I noticed was that there was 23 posts regarding the 80th anniversary on Saturday.
I didn't go to the 75th at the Mint and had to read through 18 pages to see what to expect....

In the 10 years that ACVWSA exists, it was normally only Spammers that were banned, although I am aware of a few known Exporters who were also banned as they only used the Forum as a grocery list for their BUSiness (no pun intended  ).

I am not sure what the circumstances were with Vader's banning, but it was a personal issue between himself and Eben. Keep in mind that Eben is the founder of ACVWSA, so I think we should respect his decision. After all, it is his house, and we are the guests here.

The only certainty in life is change, and a lot of us (myself not excluded) have kinda moved on. Personally I am in the (what I regard as a fortunate) position of not having to spend many hours of the day in front of a computer anymore, so much less time on ACVWSA as well. I also spend a lot less time on the Forum http://hotwheelsclubza.freeforums.org (which I started, based on the experience I have gained from ACVWSA).

To answer your question, I think if you stick to the basic rules of any social inter-action, you should be safe. ACVWSA is a world-wide platform, which is seen literally by thousands on a daily base. Please refrain from making personal differences public, name-calling, insults, and negative comments about other members.

For interest sake, here are the names of the first 15 ACVWSA members, with the date they joined. Good to see that most of them are still with us!
