STOLEN:Stripped BMW R1150GS

Post by eben »

Hi all,
My brother recently relocated to France.(He's a winemaker.)
While waiting to have his bike and household goods shipped over this week, some guys raided his unoccupied flat that my parents are busy selling for him in Welgemoed, Cape Town.
They took most of his remaining home contents including the taps!
Worst is his pride and joy BMW bike which they stripped as you can see. Please be on the lookout for someone advertising the parts you see stripped from the bike.
And be warned: These crooks most likely viewed the house with agents and saw what they could steal. The neighbour approached the guys while they were carrying out the fridge and they said they were just" moving the last of the stuff"... ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Sorry to hear that the stole all those parts,it looks like they stole the quick and easy parts from the bike or it was a special order for someone. I had one of the first 1100 GS's and there was a time when theft of these bikes was bad and they found a few at Lanseria Airport ready for shipment to Angola. I hope they catch the thief and your brother gets his parts back.

There is a very strong bike community in Cape Town, with many large groups on FB and a few BMW 'shops.

Circulate this info' and the photos on FB, Eben.
"Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car, and oversteer, the rear.
Hp is how fast you hit the wall, and Torque is how far you take the wall with you."

Thanks all for your suggestions and help. I know it's more like a shot in the dark but maybe it helps.
