Here some extracts,.......

Just got the mail below from the guy that founded this museum. Can you all please take some time to help out a fellow petrol head & help preserve our SA automotive history? All he needs is some public support by way of an email.

Good day All,

Herewith 2 media reports around the closure of my Museum here in Port Elizabeth.

I respectfully request all of you to respond by e-mail, where you air your strongest objection to this unwise decision.

Furthermore, please forward this mail to ALL your friends and contacts by asking them to respond back to me by e-mail.

In doing so everybody will strengthen my case with the department concerned.

P.S. Please visit my website: http://www.oldcarsafrica.com

Kind regards

Eben de Vos

Here is the crux of the problem 8O There could be a hidden Government agenda!!
The St Croix Motor Museum in Port Elizabeth has one of the most magnificent private collections of classic and vintage cars in South Africa. Unfortunately this museum is under threat of closing due to the fact that the government department that owns the property doesn't want to renew the museum's lease. The owner of the museum, Eben de Vos, is a very worried man right now as there isn't another suitable site for him to move his collection of over 60 cars to with enough space where it will be safe and secure. The St Croix Motor Museum really is one of the city's museum gems and really need to continue to exist and I for one hope and pray that a solution to this dilemma will be found.

If anybody can help him with "persons in high places" give him a call, all will be helpfull.
