The guy already fitted two electric cooling fans for the radiator and said he also had the radiator done . I like the v8 will let the guy start it up before I pay him .

Thanks guys I'm only worried about the license .

"Licensing mass" (Unloaded weight), of the F100 with 5L straight 6 was given as 1685kg. (Source: Car magazine road test).
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.

the Perkins will probably run the F100 until the end of the world as we know it.... very reliable

But, one thing that everyone seems to be forgetting
the car is geared for a petrol engine, not a diesel. The perkins might only have a 3000rpm redline, which is half that of the petrol engine.
You might end up with a top speed of 90.... food for thought....

The Ford 5L Straight 6 petrol engine used in some F100's was an unusual low-revving engine. Max power was claimed at only 3400 rpm's, Torque around 328 nm. So gearing may not be too bad, and box is strong to take the torque of a diesel. Although, the manual transmission only had 3 forward speeds. In Namibia Argentinia, etc, it was common to fit an aircooled Deutz engine to those.
Deutz engine conversions were also done to Chev C10 bakkies.

Various sizes of the f6l913 or 912 or 914 series were used. (f3l912 would be a 3-cylinder, f5l912 a 5-cylinder, etc). Starting with "bf*l means turbocharged, and ending in "C" means intercooled. As in bf6l913C would be a straight 6 with turbo and intercooler.

haha im glad you like it.

you will not break the gearbox or diff. we use them in oval track racing and very strong.

the 3 speed box will give you a top speed of 170 easilly. my cam was a bit rough and had to do 140 to keep in the cam then did 3500 rpm.

Why oH why would anybody buy a Mercedes-Benz, with engine, and fit a TATA motor to it.

OK so you do not know how would do such a thing, BUT, you want to remove a American V8 to fit a strait 6 ????????????????????????????????????

Same thing, same reason for not doing it, you will kill the value of the truck, Even as a small block, it still has grunt.

No! I say, leave it as is, or just plain leave it alone, and walk away.
