Re: The FLy
Last update was more than 2 years ago
Well there was some Progress
I have sourced a New splined Main shaft for my Transmission and a few other bits and bobs
So last weekend I packed out the Transmission for the 10th time on to the work bench and said to myself that it is not going to be packed up again. This time I am building it and getting the box all together
So started to assemble the Gear stacks last week end and finished the whole transmission today with 2 x HD Alluminium side cover plates and 2 x 10mm steel collar brace plates on the outside of the HD Side covers
Just waiting for my nuse cone to get that back from the the machine shop as I had it machined down to fit the Bearing brace plate in between the Gear carrier and the Nose cone for better bearing support
So I am a very happy chappy today as I should be able to get the transmission in the bug in the next 2 weeks or so and then I can get the motor inn as well with all the new additions I made to it
Will post some new Pics ot the Fly for you guys to see
So it will be soon and the Fly will be flying again

Re: The FLy
Well Another Update
More than a Year ago already since the box was installed and still not running
But the Fly has been taken out of the back corner of the shop and placed on the hoist so work can be done to the Bug
This Beetle is my Hobby and I am in no Rush to finish it all though I want to try and Finish The Fly for September Speed week
I will have a look and see what I can do for a Airfilter system If I am going to go to the Desert and do a Run as that dust is as fine as Baby Powder and do not want to have the motor damaged with the dust
Removed the Radiator so we can Pull the nose back out that Got damaged when It was pushed on to the Trailer 2 years ago And then need to fit new Surge tank with Both Bosch fuel pumps and new 1650CC fuel injectors
Chiirs / Keep and Eye on this space

I actually wanted to ask you the other day when The Fly is going to run again. Hope it's soon. I need a bit of an adrenaline rush.
