Re: Introducing myself

Post by Tempo-Doeloe.nl »

Well, maybe its nice to show some things the I own or owned also in this topic. I have seen that there are some folks with a mini caravan here. I love old caravans and owned a few.
The most bizar one I sold last year unfortunately. But sometimes things need to go to get new things or to maintain the other things. Unfortunately i dont have a moneytree in my backgarden.

It all started with a Kip Kuiken from 1961 for 50 euros a very cool thing.
But a Puck was always on my mind. Then i had the opportunity to by a cheap Eriba Puck from 197, for 300euros, to renovate. After one holiday my girl wanted to have a bigger caravan, so was lucky again to buy a Eriba Faun Luxus from 1961 for only 200euro.. One with a closed front (no front window) and litte backlights. The pic with my ex-vw kübel.

Well for the prices you cant buy anything now, just had great luck the last 10 years..

The most special caravan was the mini from the Mark Ever. This one was not cheap but i had to have it.. I was told that there were only 5 one build, just as a showmodel for dealers.

This one we had for 2 years. You could only enter it by going on your knees or going to the fornt or back safari :hangloose:
It was 2 personbed on wheels, 1,40m h- 1,30m w and 2,00m l.
It had to go to finance a litte part of the t2ab. Love the T2ab but this mini caravan was awesome..

Just love your Beetle man, you should place all your cars and a photo of your self here http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopi ... =1&t=26334
So all can drool over your great collection.

I am sure that being in Europe, you come into contact with a lot of small camping vans and making up your mind which to get will be hard.

Should you have photos of the other ones you mentioned, please post them, would be great to see them.

Today we had our first daymeeting at a Zweefvliegtuigterrein :D Finally the weather is getting better, hate the long winters..
Went there with 2 of our friends, one with his to perfect T2a Westfalia and one with her Typ3 Variant. I got the picture from the facebookpage Tairlet.

Somethings done to the bug

Post by Tempo-Doeloe.nl »

This winter the beetle got a new engine because the old tuned one was broken..
Same setup as the other engine but now based on an almost brand new engine block (old fire-brigade pump). Hope this one will last now for ever..

Pictures are not so good (the car also stand for almost a winter outside so i have to clean it very well) but it gives an impresion. Next to do is to find were the rain comes into the cars right heaterchannel and then replace the carpetset.

And ofcourse to put an sticker on it from this forum, who can deliver me some and a t-shirt would also great. Ofcourse i will pay for it.

But i am very pleased that the car is running again. Last weekend did the first testdrives :hangloose:

It has been a long time ago that I visited this group.
Some changes in the way we do our trips but one thing does not change, the love for the Rostyles which will always be the wheels for my Beetle.

For the T2 Highroof (on Facebook: highroofconnection.com) I am looking for somebody to build adapters to run also Rostyles one day. No I am not asking for a set here, do not wanna upset people again 😉

This is the way you might see me in some European countries, if you do see me, let's talk! Greetings Raoel
