Introducing: Ella, my '75 Fleetline

Post by GavinHuart »

Greetings all,

I've been rather quiet of late due to house moving, working too hard and *ahem* Fleetline buying! :D

The pics uploaded will show off a remarkably original '75 Fleetline that I recently acquired from a certain forum member who answers to the name: "Merlin". He has to be credited with 99 percent of the work completed on said bus to date. It currently has a beautifully rebuilt Fleetline-spec'd engine. The engine was not included in the sale, but I'm trying my best to bend certain rubber arms  . It drives magnificently, is licensed and on the roads making it's presence felt :hangloose: .

There is a superb story to this bus and just how it came to be in Nic's possession. It is something I'd like to invite him to share, should he want to  .

All I'll share from my side is a thousand 'thank-you's' to Merlin for making me the proud new owner of a beautiful bus called: Ella.

My intention is to keep this bus as original as humanly possible. It won't be repainted as the paint is in very good condition. There are a few minor rust issues which will be monitored and quite possibly tended to in the future.

Take a look at just a couple of shots I have on hand atm....

Sweet Fleet! Well done on acquiring it Gavin. :hangloose:

Thank you Jolas. Funnily enough, the door cards are actually recreated replicas of the original items. Nic had ordered these, made and matched to exact specifications, from my brother; a carpenter. Nic didn't have time to fit all the cards so since buying the bus, I've done that. All holes were lined up to the original body work holes too.

Thanks again to everyone for the compliments :D.
