Terry Phillips has a 1961 Beetle (Photo Heavy)

Post by retrovan »

Hi Guys,
Just posting for Terry.

His Car Story, as told by Him.

A bit of the history on the car.
It was purchased new in 1961 and it had a few extras fitted by McDouling Motors in Booysens.
It was a father and son that owned it,the son had it for the last 27 yrs before I got it.
It has the following.
Matching engine and chassis numbers.
All the service and owners manuals.
Genuine 37600 Miles.
A copy of the very first registration certificate.
It came with these 3 suitcases from new.
It has been garaged all its life.
It is very original.
That's all I have on the car for now.
Thanks.
Regards,
Terry Phillips

Wow, that is an amazing example.

Considering your other thread on the car covers, there is only one solution and that's to get this car into a garage. I am pretty sure that this car is in this exact condition because it was stored in a garage.....

In 5 years time this car will be ruined if left to stand under that shade port.

Sean I might have misled you guys but the car is under a steel carport with shade net on 2 sides and my workshop at the other end,but I will be parking it in a storage unit while I figure out a better option.
Thanks Guys for all the compliments much appreciated.

All true, when I got to Herman's house I found all his family cars and parked outside and Lindor nice and dry in the garage and that's where she still stays. The :flash: Golf had to make way for her as the Fleetline stands in the other one, still not heard the end of that, but like Herman says you have to get your priority's right
