I kept the spare on top on the roof rack
When i got the vehicle it was all open with the bars welded i shaped and bent the aluminium checkered plate lid for a bit more packing space
Bahahaha thanks dude!! Those holes were point of many a discussion as to what they were. Even on here if I remember. Hahaha.
It looked stock but didn't fit any factory options.
Glad to close the mystery there. Spare is on the roof now. Will be getting a solar panel up there, any maybe a roof rack on the front roof

Lenses made for the lowlights. Could have gotten these easier but had a guy I thought I'll try out. He makes these from moulds, they are semi decent but I'm not the happiest with them. They will do for now until they break or so. Can't remember how much they were. But something like R150ea. Dont buy these moulded ones. Rather get from Rui or import em.

Engine bay painted black and stone chip added. New wiring harness to be installed. Do you guys think with fresh new wires etc, that the engine will swing better or should I keep the starter relay connected?

Found a deluxe bus side step. Its incomplete however. What you see is what I have. Looked at a friends bus, I need the mounts for the under the bus and the latch thingy that pushes it out when the door is opened. If anybody has parts required for this, please shout. Or I'll be looking at a custom job to get it to work.

the starter works better with the relay.
The relay takes the load of the ignition switch. If the ignition switch is worn, it could prevent the starter from working, but it might still allow the relay to do its thing and get the bus started

If your bus is a original westy it should have cover plates under the belly. These will prevent you from fitting the step.
You could of course remove them to fit the step.
Wanted parts:
Left sunvisor
Sink faucet
Exhaust to swap for Beetle exhaust

And this weekend I figured just that out!
So the step idea gets binned

Coming on nicely, are you going to leave the outside white or are you making it blue as the inside.

Can not wait to see it completed.

Standox materials used for all the prep and paint. 4 coats of Colour done top and bottom.
BMW Marina Blue was the Colour of choice. Chosen to stand out from the all to popular blue bays currently running around

Have a ton of updates and pics. Almost forgot about this, and also been sadly not spending enough time on the bus. Its 95% done however and will be HOPEFULLY going to KKK for its first outing as completely redone.

Why aren't my pictures showing? 😓

That would be awesome as our 1ste outing in that bus was also to KKK

Stumbled across the forum after a loooong time. Life!

Still a proud airhead. Scenes been quiet hey.

Cant remember what was the last pic posted. Since then I've added a new aircooled fanatic to the fam. Baby girl has taken every spare minute of life so bus has been standing 95% complete for a long time.
