The blue sidewall is only a protective coat on the white wall, when washed, will be snow white and very pretty.....

Must say, thats a nice bus, hope you have a jolly time in her, and please Post her For Sale her on the Forum, before you go to Gumtree, as here she will get a good home. and boy, does she deserve a good home

I prefer fig's view of preserving the bus as it is, rust dings and faded og paint but I painted mine too. It will be destroyed here without good paint.
The blue stripe is in fact a white wall, they're bought like that to protect them in freighting etc..you actually have to clean it off to reveal the white strip underneath.
Also everyone loves an OG unpainted virgin bus but in real life its nicer to see a shiny vehicle in your garage (especially at sea level yes).

SO after the bus came home from the panelshop I decided to do some more tinkering, as one does. I found a few things that bugged me and could be easily corrected with some elbow grease and a little TLC...

Cleaned up and rust guarded inside doors, note original plastic liners. Not a fan of the overspray but what can you do..

Lifted, cleaned and replaced front rubber mat.

All decals still intact.

Removed OG head unit and wrapped in plastic. Did a "mild" sound install - Mp3 Front loader, Amp speaker...the usual WITHOUT having to sacrifice any panels! lol

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Woah dude. Very pimp ride. Not sure I could sell after becoming emotionally invested!
