Hello everybody. My grandfather was kind enough to leave me his Beetle when he moved to the West coast. Im not sure what year it is exactly. Had a 1500 singleport motor in when i got it. Took that out since it needed a rebuild. Have since found an upright conversion for a type 4 motor and since i have a couple of those in my shed i think i just might build a 2l and use that. Bodywork needs attention. Has a few dents and one or two minor rust spots but other than that very solid. Will be turning her into my daily drive.

Re: My Beetle
Looks good.
At a solid guess, I would call it a 1969

Re: My Beetle
I think its a 68 with smooth deck lid, the 69 had vents on deck lid
nice car, keep it as is and enjoy.
My first car was a 68, I still own it but its a buggy now

No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.

Re: My Beetle
Looks like 4-bolt wheels. Does it have a ball joint front suspension?
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.

Re: My Beetle
Hi guys the vin suggests it is a late 68 model. It is lhd , has four bolt wheels, balljoint front suspension but no discs in the feont. Is there any way i can find out when it was imported and where it was built etc? Thanks Charles
