My Rides
I am crazy hooked on the old school ac vw's.
I have a trike 2l type 4 slightly modified runs 195km/h , a bay window of which I am the second owner with 128000km , and busy restoring a splitty. Giel from GP Beetles in Alberton just completed the engine 4 it and it looks and sounds new!!!
FRESHLY ADDED 1982 CAMPER
Now BUGGER built me a great box for the trike !!!! Brings the revs down to 3600 @ 195 kph !!!!!!! THANKS BUGGER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: My Rides
Please tell me where you got your trike. Eversince I can remember I have wanted one. I found the one I want on a German website, but at 22000 Euro, it will have to stay a dream. Is there anyone local that still builds them or will a semi-mechanically challenged programmer have to try to do his own thing?

Re: My Rides
Yes he is an old schoolfriend of mine Deon Slabbert. He also sells it in a kit form.Beautifully made and reasonably priced. His trike is over 30 years old .He just broke a stroker crank on a type 4 2.3litre motor. His number is 0825583612. He built my trike and he also build for paraplegics. Here is a photo of his trike and one that he built for a paraplegic chap from Bloem.Blitzkrieg_Beetle wrote:There's a guy who builds them in the Cape
