In a quest for a bit more performance, the 36DCD7 weber is a popular option.
The problem comes when you try to mate it to the standard Beetle accelerator cable.
Over the years, I have seen some horrific attempts at cable routing.
On Andre_vdm's Beetle is one of the most effective solutions I've come across.
It gives full travel for the carb to open fully and it does not overstrain the standard accelerator cable and the alignmet with the accelerator cable housing is perfect.
Accelerator effort on the pedal is the same is stock.
Sometimes it does help to have a master machinist available - compliments to Andre's dad.
The manifold is an EMPI item. And very important CONNECT THE HEAT RISERS. Because of its manual choke, these Webers setup hates cold wet mornings until the manifod warms up enough to de-ice.
This setup has done about 20,000 km without any problems.

Re: Weber carb linkage
Used bicycle components, consisting of brake cable and sleeve with 2 cable ends with tha added benifit of easy adjustability as the ends are threaded, have had several dudes copy my system and are also very happy with the results.
cheap too bike part cost less than R20

Hi Rui, old thread, I know. Any chance you still have the pics of this setup?
