Bosal Exhaust

Can a 1200 beetle exhaust 233-867 fit a 1100 Beetle.Any one know,not sure if the part number is for a 1200 but thats the number on the one I have.

The 1100 and 1200 are different. It will fit onto the cylinders heads, but the inlet to the heater tubes and carb heater pipes differ.

Does anyone know for what vw this bosal exhaust is..

Bosal part no 233-865 E

I bought it for my 1600 tp but does not fit no 3 pipe is to long and also only has 1 carb heater pipe

that looks OEM to me
unlike the aftermarket exhausts, the OEM one has one manifold heater pipe connected to the exhaust near the cylinder (high pressure) and the other connected to the silencer (low pressure). This actually allows the gas to flow through the pipe and out instead of just sitting there, not flowing and the carbon just getting stuck and blocking the heater. But doing it the wrong way is cheaper...

Cylinders 1 and 3 are connected to the silencer through the heater boxes - which arent pictured above. #1 and 4 go onto the silencer box.

Some of the after market both join into the silencer, but on the one side they have a small hole and on the other a big hole, this makes the hot gas cycle through the heating pipe.

Some gasket kits also have the two gaskets with different hole sizes.
