When I offloaded from trailer and wanted to drive my gearlever is totally "loose"
Turning all directions and only hiting reverse

Re: Gearbox help !!!
NEAR THE REAR OF THE SHAFT, BEFORE THE GEARBOX, THERE IS A SHORT SCREW WITH A SQUARE HEAD. THIS MAY HAVE LOOSENED OR SNAPPED OR DROPPED OUT COMPLETELY. IT SHOULD BE HELD IN PLACE BY A PIECE OF WIRE BUT SOMETIMES IT'S MISSING. JUST TIGHTEN UP OR REPLACE.
IF YOU HAVE THE OLDER SYSTEM YOU MAY HAVE A STRIPPED THE CONNECTOR. ALSO FOUND IN A SIMILAR AREA, JUST A LOT BIGGER AND MORE EXPENSIVE!

Re: Gearbox help !!!
Heinrich, this is often just left or not maintained by the original owner(s). There are a few bushes going from the front to the gearbox which might be stuffed and require replacing. I read once, the chap posted, "it's like stirring a box nuts and bolts with a spanner"..
The bushing kit and rear coupler to the gearbox is a cheap outlay, but will have your gear lever working 100% in no time. try source a kit up there somewhere and fit. quite a mission if you don't have a lift, and the coupler which connects onto the gearbox shaft is a Pita sometimes to fit.
cheers
Alan

Re: Gearbox help !!!
Removed the gearlever with the two screws on the floor board
The "ball & pin" was not seated correctly when the did the flooring
Cleaned all, packed grease reseated and all fine
All gears available again
Must say there is some play but assume that is "age"
Will look for a new lever or just machine a new "ball"

Re: Gearbox help !!!
Another quick question
The gearshift plate have a "long" and "short" plate side
Is the "long" side on the reverse side or 4th gear side
Just want to kame sure that it was inserted the correct way

Re: Gearbox help !!!
The long side with the ramp will be to the right side of the bus, or as you say, by the 4th gear side.

Re: Gearbox help !!!
thanks all
Is there any "bush" in the front section when removing the gear lever ?
Or is this just the ball/pin that fits in the casing / sleeve ?
Sorry for my wording
