Painting engine cooling tin.

Post by Wentzel »

I was thinking of repainting my engine tin as it is looking bad. Some I will sand to bare metal but was hoping not to do the fan housing. It has some deep scratches etc, can this be fixed with filler or something or will the heat from the engine cause problems?

Any recommendations?

Thanks

So much quicker and easier to sandblast too rather than sanding.

Sandblasting and powder coating. I usually hand in an entire set of engine tin covered in filthy oil and rust, R400 later its all nice and shiny again. A bargain compared to the work to be done at home. The powder coating also lasts very well.
